Privacy on a private charter: hour by hour
Updated 20 October 2026
A charter of Maheswari gives your party the boat, with a crew of 6 and a chef aboard. This letter says who is where, how the evening and the early morning run, and how to ask the crew for something when you want it.
Who is aboard, and where they keep out of your way
Aboard a charter there are your guests and the boat's crew, a crew of 6. The chef and boat crew sail on every trip. The crew belong to the boat, and your party has the cabins, the sun deck and the dining room.
That is 6 crew for up to 20 guests.
Keep this in mind when you plan the quiet hours: the crew work the boat, so even with no other guest aboard, they move about the deck as the day needs.
The evening after dinner
Dinner is the last meal of the day, and the evening after it is free time, on both nights of the 3D2N.
On a charter, that free time belongs to your party. The sun deck with lazy chairs, the outdoor area with bean bags, the Bluetooth sound system and the jacuzzi are yours, and nobody else aboard is a guest. If some of the party turn in early, keep the music on the deck low and the rest of you can stay up.
Where the boat lies for the night depends on the weather and on the captain's decision that day.
The early morning on the Padar path
Day two of the 3D2N opens with the Padar trek, before breakfast. The morning starts early, so a party that wants to sleep in should say so in advance. Name the mornings you would like an easier start in your first message, not at the pickup.
We pass those mornings to the boat when you book. The captain sets the order of the stops on the day, with the weather in mind, and fits the late risers in where the route allows.
On a charter no other guest of the boat shares the path with you, though the trail itself is open to walkers from other boats.
Balconies, doors and the cabin pair
Each cabin has its own bathroom and its own air conditioning. Four cabins have a private balcony: Signature Ocean on the main deck and Master Ocean on the upper deck. Superior is on the lower deck, Deluxe Ocean on the upper deck, neither with a balcony.
Cabins come in pairs, and a family can take both cabins of a pair. Cabins side by side are a request we pass to the boat, with no promise. Superior and Deluxe Ocean take 2 guests; Signature Ocean and Master Ocean take up to 3. Tell us who sleeps with whom, and we draw up the cabin plan.
The balcony is private to its cabin, a place of your own early in the morning or after dinner.
What a charter keeps to your party
A charter keeps the boat to your party. No other guest shares the deck, the dining room or the jacuzzi. The itinerary, the pickup and the day's pace are agreed with us in advance, though the captain still sets the order of the stops.
The crew work aboard, the chef cooks, and the park rules apply at every stop. A guide or photo documentation can join you on request, quoted separately. The park package we quote per guest already holds the ranger, the local levies and the government entrance ticket (PP 36/2024), and it comes on top of the boat price unless your written quote lists it as included.
Wi-Fi is local only, from the crew's mobile connection, so a family can switch off.
Signalling to the crew without a bell
If you need something from the crew, tell them; they are aboard for the whole trip. On shore, write to us on WhatsApp where the signal allows, and we pass the message to the boat. The crew's mobile connection works where the signal reaches.
For anything that cannot wait, the crew are the people to ask, since we are on land and they are with you.
On the first evening, ask the crew where to find someone and when. It is a small agreement, and it keeps the quiet hours quiet.
FAQ
Do crew members enter the cabins?
Say when you book how you want the cabins handled, and we pass that to the boat. Each cabin has its own bathroom and air conditioning.
Can we have the sun deck to ourselves in the evening?
On a charter, yes: no other guest is aboard, and the sun deck with lazy chairs is yours. The crew still work the boat. On the open trip the deck is shared with everyone aboard.
Is the sound system loud enough to disturb the cabins?
A Bluetooth sound system is on deck. On a charter the volume is for your party to set, so agree it with the guests who turn in early and let the deck stay up later.
Who decides when the boat anchors for the night?
The captain, from the weather, that day. Each night opens with dinner and free time on board, whatever the anchorage.
Is there a way to ask the crew for something at night?
Tell the crew directly; they are aboard all night. WhatsApp reaches us only where the signal allows, and we pass the message to the boat, so for anything at night the crew are the people to ask.
