Three days or four: the stops, the money and a rule for choosing
Updated 20 October 2026
Choosing between 3 days and 4 days on Maheswari comes down to four extra stops and a price you can compute. At eight guests the 3D2N is IDR 7,250,000 (≈ USD 445) each and the 4D3N IDR 8,380,000 (≈ USD 514). This letter works the arithmetic for 8, 12 and 16 guests.
Stop by stop, what a fourth day brings
Start with what the fourth day adds. The 4D3N brings Rangko Cave, Burung Island, the sunset at Kanawa and the Strawberry Rock trek, none of which the 3D2N visits. It also moves Padar and Pink Beach to the third day, and gives Kelor and Manjarite the last morning.
The 3D2N already carries Kelor, Manjarite, Kalong, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo, Taka Makassar, Manta Point and Siaba. If you came for Manta Point, you have it on either length. On both, the weather can change the itinerary, and the captain decides on the day.
Only as a private charter does the 4D3N run. The open trip runs the 3D2N, on Mondays and Fridays.
Three days or four for eight guests
Take eight guests. The 3D2N costs IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) for the whole boat, so each guest pays IDR 7,250,000 (≈ USD 445). The 4D3N costs IDR 67,000,000 (≈ USD 4,110), so each pays IDR 8,380,000 (≈ USD 514). Eight is inside the band of up to 10, and no extra-guest charge applies on either length.
The fourth day therefore costs each of the eight a little over a million rupiah. It buys four more stops and a night. Whether that is worth it depends on your calendar.
A family with young children can find the 3D2N enough. Friends with a week free can take the fourth day for Rangko Cave.
| Guests | per boat | per person |
|---|---|---|
| 1–10 | IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) | IDR 5,800,000 |
| Extra guest · max guests 20 | IDR 2,500,000 (≈ USD 153) |
Three days or four for twelve guests
Take twelve guests. Two sit above the band of 10. On the 3D2N the boat is IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) + 2 × IDR 2,500,000 (≈ USD 153) = IDR 63,000,000 (≈ USD 3,865), or IDR 5,250,000 (≈ USD 322) each. On the 4D3N it is IDR 67,000,000 (≈ USD 4,110) + 2 × IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) = IDR 74,000,000 (≈ USD 4,540), or IDR 6,170,000 (≈ USD 379) each.
The gap between the two lengths is smaller at twelve than at eight, because the base price is spread over more guests. The extra-guest amount is higher on the 4D3N, which is why the gap does not keep shrinking.
Park tickets, the guide and the photo documentation come on top of either length; tickets are bought online per visitor, in each visitor's own name.
Three days or four for sixteen guests
Take sixteen guests, with all eight cabins on queen beds. The 3D2N is IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) + 6 × IDR 2,500,000 (≈ USD 153) = IDR 73,000,000 (≈ USD 4,479), or IDR 4,560,000 (≈ USD 280) each. The 4D3N is IDR 67,000,000 (≈ USD 4,110) + 6 × IDR 3,500,000 (≈ USD 215) = IDR 88,000,000 (≈ USD 5,399), or IDR 5,500,000 (≈ USD 337) each.
The table below gives the share for every party size from 1 to 20, on each length. Find 16 and read across to see the two figures side by side.
At sixteen the gap is under a million rupiah a head. If your party can spare the time, the arithmetic does not argue against the fourth day.
| Group size | 1D | 2D1N | 3D2N | 4D3N |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2 | IDR 20,000,000 | IDR 25,500,000 | IDR 29,000,000 | IDR 33,500,000 |
| 4 | IDR 10,000,000 | IDR 12,750,000 | IDR 14,500,000 | IDR 16,750,000 |
| 6 | IDR 6,670,000 | IDR 8,500,000 | IDR 9,670,000 | IDR 11,170,000 |
| 8 | IDR 5,000,000 | IDR 6,380,000 | IDR 7,250,000 | IDR 8,380,000 |

When the fourth day is worth keeping
The fourth day is worth keeping when two conditions hold. You have the days to spare. And someone in the party wants Rangko Cave, Kanawa or Strawberry Rock for their own sake. On the third afternoon you climb Strawberry Rock before the sunset at Kalong, which the 3D2N does not offer.
It is not worth keeping when your flight home is early, when the party has young children and a long first day would wear them out, or when the budget is fixed. The 3D2N covers Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo and Manta Point in three days.
Both lengths end the same way: back in Labuan Bajo in the late morning, and flights after 14:00.
A rule for choosing before you write to us
Before you write to us, pick the number of guests and the number of days you can spare. If you can spare 3, choose the 3D2N and look at the open trip too. If you can spare 4 and are 8 or more, price both lengths with the table.
Then tell us the occasion, the ages of any children, and any flight you cannot move. We reply with a cabin plan and the two figures. If you are undecided between the two, say so, and we price both for your party rather than guess which you meant.
The itinerary can change because of the weather on either length, and the captain sets the order of the stops on the day.
