Arrive in Labuan Bajo the day before Maheswari sails and sleep at a hotel close to the harbour. Pickup is at 10:00 and sailing at 10:30. Book your flight home for after 14:00 on the last day of a 3D2N or 4D3N. We advise on flights and do not sell tickets.
The night before the pickup
The pickup is at 10:00, from your Labuan Bajo hotel or the airport, and the boat sails at 10:30. A welcome drink is poured on board before the sailing, so the morning has a gentle first hour. Land the day before.
A cancelled or delayed flight on boarding morning costs you the first day, and a night in town costs far less. Pickup on a private charter is free, and the airport is 2 to 3 km from the harbour, about 10 minutes by car.
What we prepare before you board is short: your hotel or flight number for the 10:00 pickup, your dietary notes for the chef, and your cabin plan. Send them in one WhatsApp message and we keep them in one thread.
A note on timing: if your flight lands after 10:00 on the pickup day, tell us before you book it, and we plan the pickup around it.
Where to stay, area by area
Where your party sleeps sets how the morning starts. In the marina and town centre, Meruorah Komodo Labuan Bajo is about 2 minutes from the harbour by car, and Komodo Lodge and Triple 888 Suites are about 5 minutes away. They suit a party that wants a short drive to the boat and dinner in town.
Beside the airport, Crowne Plaza Labuan Bajo by IHG and Parlezo by Kagum Hotels are about 10 minutes from the harbour, which helps with a late landing. On Pede Beach, Sudamala Resort Komodo, The Jayakarta Suites Komodo-Flores and Laprima Hotel Labuan Bajo sit about 10 minutes out.
On Waecicu Beach, Katamaran Hotel & Resort Komodo is about 10 minutes from the harbour, AYANA Komodo Resort, Waecicu Beach about 15 minutes and Plataran Komodo Resort & Spa about 20 minutes. Flying in, and flying out
Komodo International Airport has the code LBJ. Most visitors connect through Bali (DPS), Jakarta (CGK) or Surabaya (SUB), with Lombok and Kupang as smaller feeders. A direct flight takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to 1 hour 20 minutes from Bali, about 1 hour 30 minutes from Surabaya and 2 hours 30 minutes to 3 hours from Jakarta.
We advise on routes and do not sell tickets. Schedules change, so check with the airline before you book. Send us your flight numbers, and we line the pickup up against them.
Flying out depends on the length of the trip. On the 3D2N and the 4D3N the boat is back in Labuan Bajo in the late morning of the last day. Book the flight home for after 14:00. The full day and the 2D1N end on the day itself, so for those two fly home the next day.
A party that arrives on several flights sends every flight number, and the pickup is arranged against each one.

Is the airport far from the harbour?
No. Komodo International Airport is 2 to 3 km from the harbour, about 10 minutes by car. On a private charter, hotel and airport pickup is free, and a larger party can have a private Toyota HiAce of up to 12 seats, quoted separately.
What if my flight lands after 10:00 on pickup day?
The pickup is fixed at 10:00 and the boat sails at 10:30, so a later landing cannot join that sailing. Tell us your flight before you buy it. The safe plan is to land the day before, and we can book that night for you.
