Komodo National Park tickets: who pays, when and how much

Updated 20 October 2026

KEXI's park package per guest: 3D2N: IDR 650,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest; 4D3N: IDR 750,000 per foreign guest, IDR 350,000 per Indonesian guest. Komodo park tickets are not in the Maheswari fare. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 a day, an Indonesian visitor IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends. Each ticket is bought online, in the visitor's own name. Ranger and local levies are bundled with the government entrance ticket (PP 36/2024) in one KEXI park package per guest. It is added to the boat price, unless your quote shows it as included.

What the park charges

The entry rates are set under Government Regulation PP 36/2024, and the table below sets them out. A foreign visitor pays IDR 250,000 per person per day, every day of the week. An Indonesian visitor pays IDR 50,000 on weekdays and IDR 75,000 at weekends and on public holidays.

Entry for the day is covered by the ticket, and snorkelling in the park is covered by it. Ranger and local levies belong to the same park package. The rates above were checked on 10 October 2026, and we check them again when you send your guest list.

One package covers the government entrance ticket (IDR 250,000 per foreign visitor per day, PP 36/2024), the ranger fee and the local levies. It is quoted per guest and paid on top of the boat price, unless your quote says it is included. For other trip lengths, the desk quotes the package with your booking.

Who buys the ticket, and when

Every ticket is bought online, one per visitor, through the park's own system, and it carries the visitor's name and passport number. There is no cash at the gate.

Send us each guest's name and passport or ID details at least 7 days before sailing. The same details feed the harbour's electronic boarding pass, which must match the passenger list. We tell you who buys each ticket, and when, as soon as your date is held.

A daily visitor cap applies at Padar, Rinca and Komodo and at nearby dive sites, in time sessions, and the figure has been revised during the year. The captain decides the order of the stops on the day, and the cap is one of the things that decides it.

Costing your party over two or three days

A ticket is per person per day, so the arithmetic is simple. Four foreign visitors on two park days buy eight tickets, and ten foreign visitors on three park days buy thirty. The table below gives the totals for 2, 4 and 10 guests over 1, 2 and 3 days at the foreign rate.

Not every day of a trip is a park day, so count with care. We mark the park days for your route and your dates, and the count goes with your booking. An Indonesian party reads the table with the weekday and weekend rates in mind.

Add the ticket to the fare when you compare trips. The whole-boat fare for the 3D2N is IDR 58,000,000 (≈ USD 3,558) for up to 10 guests, and the tickets come on top.

Rangers, piers and drones

Ranger fees and local levies sit in the park package, not on a bill of their own. Ranger and local levies are bundled with the government entrance ticket (PP 36/2024) in one KEXI park package per guest. It is added to the boat price, unless your quote shows it as included.

A camera drone is a different matter. National park rules apply, and a permit is needed. Ask before you fly, and we say what the park requires; the drone stays in its case until the permit is in hand.

Tips, flights, hotel nights and travel insurance are also outside the charter fare, as the booking terms say. On a private charter, a guide and photo or video documentation are added on request, each quoted separately.

Why none of this sits in the fare

The fare is for the boat. It is priced per boat on a charter and per person on the open trip, and it does not depend on who sits aboard. A park ticket is a government charge that depends on the visitor's nationality and the day, and it must carry the visitor's own name.

Keeping the two apart means your fare does not move when your guest list changes nationality. You see what the government charges and what the boat charges. Line by line, nothing is mixed.

A note on cash: the park does not take cash for the entry ticket, so do not budget for a payment at the gate.

FAQ

How much is the Komodo park ticket for foreigners?

IDR 250,000 per person per day, every day of the week, under PP 36/2024. It is bought online in the visitor's own name and paid apart from the fare. Ranger and local levies belong to the same park package.

Is the ticket in the charter fare?

No. The charter fare covers the boat, the chef and boat crew, meals, the tender and the snorkelling gear. Park tickets are bought online, one per visitor, and paid separately from the fare. The guide and documentation are on request, quoted separately.

Do I need a drone permit?

National park rules apply to drones, and a permit is needed. Name the stops you have in mind, and we tell you what the park requires before the drone comes out of its case.

Can I pay the ticket in cash on the day?

No. The park sells the entry ticket online, one per visitor, with the name and passport number. There is no cash at the gate, so the tickets are settled online before sailing, once we have every guest's details.

What is the weekend rate for Indonesians?

IDR 75,000 per person per day at weekends and on public holidays. On weekdays an Indonesian visitor pays IDR 50,000. The rate follows the day of the visit, not the day of booking, and the table at the top of this page gives both.
